William P. Johnson, JD, MSEE Attorney and engineer Bill Johnson is Professor Emeritus at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). He holds graduate degrees in electrical engineering (Syracuse University, 1986) and law (University at Buffalo Law School, 2007), and is admitted to the New York State bar. Johnson joined the RIT faculty in 1989 and most recently served as program director for the College of Engineering Technology’s Telecommunications / Communication Systems MS program. His focus is on wireless communication systems, electronics design, and technology law. Since 1997, Professor Johnson has provided engineering support to his municipal and citizen association clients throughout New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Oregon. In 2009 Bill was admitted to the New York bar. In addition to maintaining a general law practice, he now provides both focused engineering and legal services related to wireless zoning matters. Bill is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the New York State Bar Association, and the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers. |
Steven M. Ciccarelli, MSEE Professor, engineer and remote pilot Steve Ciccarelli holds graduate degrees in electrical engineering (Rochester Institute of Technology, 1998) and STEM Education (State University of New York at Buffalo, 2020), in addition to being a certified remote pilot (FAA Part 107). Steve Ciccarelli is an accomplished professional renowned for his expertise in radio-frequency engineering, education, and leadership. Having transitioned from a successful industry career focused on RF and wireless communications engineering projects, Steve joined the RIT faculty in 2001. Throughout his tenure at RIT, Steve has held various leadership roles, including Associate Department Chair for Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology and Program Chair for Electrical Engineering Technology, emphasizing his dedication to academic excellence and program development. Currently, he teaches courses in wireless communications, digital signal processing, and transmission lines. As an Independent Radio-Frequency Engineering Consultant, he collaborates with municipalities, conducting telecommunication facility tower reviews. In this role, Steve meticulously reviews carrier RF site justification documents, prepares comprehensive summary reports, and provides valuable insights at planning and zoning board meetings. His expertise ensures a comprehensive understanding of the technical aspects involved in telecommunication infrastructure. Steve is a proud member of The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Eta Kappa Nu, Tau Beta Pi and The American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES).
